Orthonychia parva
Taxonomy
Capulus parva was named by Shumard and Swallow (1858) [Swallow in]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Lewiston locality, which is in a Sevatian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Martin Bridge Limestone Formation of Idaho.
It was corrected as Capulus parvus by Keyes (1890); it was recombined as Platyceras parvum by Girty (1903) and Mark (1912); it was recombined as Platyceras (Orthonychia) parva by Knight and Bridge (1944), Yochelson and Saunders (1967), Kues (1984), Kues (1985), Kues (1996) and Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Platyceras (Orthonychia) parvus by Sturgeon (1964); it was recombined as Orthonychia parva by Knight (1934), Sturgeon (1937), Chronic (1953), Bandel and Frýda (1999) and Wagner (2023).
