Taxonomy
Alectrion cercadensis was named by Maury (1917) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene-Early Pliocene; Dominican Republic, Jamaica.]. Its type specimen is Holotype (no number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nassarius (Uzita) cercadensis by Woodring (1928) and Woodring (1964); it was recombined as Nassarius cercadensis by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
