Taxonomy
Chainodus ulmensis was named by Ziegler (1990). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SMNS 44766 D4, a tooth (p4 dext.). Its type locality is Ulm-Westtangente, which is in a MN 2 terrestrial marl in Germany.
