Taxonomy
Chainodus eggingensis was named by Ziegler (1990). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BSP 1881 IX 1, a mandible (mandible sin. with p1 fragm. m2). Its type locality is Eggingen, which is in an Aquitanian fluvial-lacustrine marl/limestone in the Lower Freshwater Molasse Formation of Germany.
