Metopaster stratifera

Taxonomy
Asterias stratifera was named by Desmoulins (1832). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museum of Bordeaux, two syntype n°251. It was considered monophyletic by Villier (1995).

It was recombined as Pentetagonaster stratifera by d'Orbigny (1850); it was recombined as Pentetagonaster stratiferus by Beltrémieux (1866); it was recombined as Teichaster stratifera by Valette (1925); it was recombined as Metopaster stratifera by Villier (1995).
