Buccinum bidentatum was named by Emmons (1858) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Pliocene; North Carolina-Florida.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nassa bidentata by Dall (1890); it was recombined as Uzita bidentata by Gardner (1943).
