Taxonomy
Nucula corbuliformis was named by Hall and Whitfield (1869). Its type specimen is NYSM 2847 (9571/5) (lectotype), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossil Bed F.2680, Zinda Pir, which is in a Ypresian marine shale in the Ghazij Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Nuculoidea corbuliformis by Bailey (1986) and Amler (2004).
