Turritella martini was named by Cossmann (1913) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Java, Indonesia.]. Its type specimen is RGM 10810, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Zaria martini by Shuto (1974), van den Hoek Ostende et al. (2002) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
