Taxonomy
Chomataster acules was named by Spencer (1913). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Natural History Musem, London, holotype BNHM E 13255, paratypes BNHM E13256-59,. It is the type species of Chomataster. It was considered monophyletic by Breton (1992).
