Chomataster humilis was named by Schulz and Weitschat (1975). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museum of Natural History, London, holotype BNHM E 28407a,b.
It was recombined as Nymphaster humilis by Gale (1987), Gale (1989), Breton (1992), Lewis (1993) and Jagt et al. (2021).
