Lophostropheus airelensis
Taxonomy
Liliensternus airelensis was named by Cuny and Galton (1993). Its type specimen is Caen University unnumbered, a set of postcrania, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Airel Quarry, which is in a Rhaetian/Hettangian marginal marine claystone/limestone in the Moon-Airel Formation of France. It is the type species of Lophostropheus.
It was recombined as Lophostropheus airelensis by Ezcurra and Cuny (2007), Langer et al. (2010), Delsate and Ezcurra (2014), Nesbitt and Ezcurra (2015), Martill et al. (2016), Moreau et al. (2018), Zahner and Brinkmann (2019) and Moreau et al. (2019).
It was recombined as Lophostropheus airelensis by Ezcurra and Cuny (2007), Langer et al. (2010), Delsate and Ezcurra (2014), Nesbitt and Ezcurra (2015), Martill et al. (2016), Moreau et al. (2018), Zahner and Brinkmann (2019) and Moreau et al. (2019).
