It was assigned to Cymatiidae by Gardner (1947); to Colubrariidae by Gardner (1948) and Ladd (1982); to Nassariinae by Wilson (1994); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Buccinidae by Beu et al. (1990), Todd (2001) and Beu (2005).
