Taxonomy
Parametopaster fournieri was named by Breton (1992). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle of Le Havre, holotype MHNH 8431, paratype MHNH 8432-. It is the type species of Parametopaster.

G. Breton 1992Enlarged ultimate superomarginal plate high, long, narrow with a rounded abactinal dome and in contact with five to height inferomarginals. Raised central area lacking or residual. Superomarginal plates high with a reduced central area, without granule-pits. Marginal plates with no to numerous slit-like Pedicellariae-pits.
