Recurvaster blackmorei was named by Rasmussen (1950). It is not extant. Its type specimen is History Museum, London, holotype BNHM E 13933.

A. S. Gale 1987Medium size Recurvaster. Granule pits few, present only on aboral surfaces of superomarginals, inner borders of wich bear fine rugosities. Aboral ossicles coarsely and densely rugose.
