Taxonomy
Oxyrhina leptodon was named by Agassiz (1843). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Isurus desorii by Chapman and Cudmore (1924); it was synonymized subjectively with Isurus oxyrinchus by Marsili et al. (2007).
