Spenceraster rugosus

Taxonomy
Nymphaster rugosus was named by Spencer (1907). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museum of Natural History, London, holotype BNHM OR 57516.

It was recombined as Trachyaster rugosus by Spencer (1913); it was recombined as Spenceraster rugosus by Spencer and Wright (1966), Breton (1992), Néraudeau and Breton (1993) and Lewis (1993).

G. Breton 1992Small size. Arms short, narrow. Interbrachial arc rounded. Marginals few, relatively low and long. Profile convex. Ornament of tubercles and occasional granule-pits can lack abradially or on margins of plates. Marginals more or less curved to parallel. Narrow step occasionally on lateral sides of the external face. Pedicellariae-pits of winged-type.
