Taxonomy
Talecaster neraudeaui was named by Breton (1992). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle of Le Havre, holotype MHNH 8320, paratypes MHNH 8321. It is the type species of Talecaster.

G. Breton 1992Marginal plates relatively large, low. Lateral faces parallel to slightly converging abradially. External face flat. Superomarginal angular with abactinal and abradial parts clearly differentiated. Abactinal part horizontal or slightly sloping. Abradial side vertical or reentrant. Five to six large spine-pits at the angle. Inferomarginal plates with low triangular profile. Granule-pits of various sizes. Pedicellariae-pits large, slit-like, frequent.
