Pleurotomaria yoshiwarai was named by Oazki (1954) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Japan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Mikadotrochus yoshiwarai by Shikama (1973) and Okumura and Yamagishi (1992).
