Dolichupis was named by Iredale (1930) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 909]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Trivirostra (Dolichupis) by Ladd (1982); it was reranked as Pusula (Dolichupis) by Skwarko (1994); it was reranked as Trivia (Dolichupis) by Todd (2001).
