Lucina parilis was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Oregon. DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic-Recent; North Pacific.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Loripes parilis by Conrad (1848); it was recombined as Diplodonta (Felaniella) parilis by Dall (1909) and Etherington (1931); it was recombined as Taras parilis by Grant and Gale (1931) and Delong (1941); it was recombined as Felaniella (Felaniella) parilis by Moore (1988); it was synonymized subjectively with Diplodonta sericata by Hall (2002); it was recombined as Diplodonta parilis by Dall (1900), Moore (1963), Coan et al. (2000) and Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012).
