It was reranked as Cernina (Eocernina) by Turner (1938) and Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).

It was assigned to Ampullospirinae by Marincovich (1977), Squires (1984) and Squires (1987); to Naticidae by Zinsmeister (1983), Squires (1988) and Squires and Demetrion (1992); to Cernina by Turner (1938) and Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ampullospiridae by Kase and Ishikawa (2003).
