Galeodinopsis was named by Sacco (1895) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u T Plio]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Alvania (Alvania) by Ponder (1984).

It was assigned to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); to Rissoidae by Gofas (2012); and to Rissoinae by Garilli and Parrinello (2014).
