Macroelongatoolithus zhangi

Taxonomy
Macroelongatoolithus zhangi was named by Fang et al. (2000). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Zhe-4-2 (slice), an egg, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shuantang 1, Tiantai (Chichengshan Fm.), which is in a Cenomanian/Turonian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Chichengshan Formation of China.

It was synonymized subjectively with Macroelongatoolithus xixiaensis by Wang et al. (2012); it was synonymized subjectively with Macroelongatoolithus carlylei by Simon et al. (2019).
