Stratigraphy
Stratigraphic resolution: | bed | ||||
Stratigraphy comments: The magnetic polarity of the basaltic lava flow directly underlying the marine deposits at Los Llanos de Tumas (Agaete) is normal and has a K/Ar age of 1.80 +-0.03 Ma. The magnetic polarity of the basaltic lava flow overlying the deposits at Cementerio (Agaete) is reversed and the K/Ar age is 1.75 +-0.03 Ma. The two ages agree perfectly with their polarities and correspond to the upper limit of the Olduvai event. |
