Paleocoordinates:68.0° South, 159.6° East
Basis of coordinate:based on nearby landmark
Geographic resolution:small collection
Time
Period:Permian Epoch:Guadalupian
Stage:Wordian 10 m.y. bin:Permian 4
Key time interval:Wordian
Age range of interval:266.90000 - 264.28000 m.y. ago
Stratigraphy
Formation:Muree
Stratigraphic resolution:group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: Assigned to the Echinalosia robusta/hanloni brachiopod zone and lower APP4.2 palynomorph zone by Briggs (1998). Laurie et al., (2016) inferred an age of 266.8 Ma for the base of APP4.2 on the basis of radiometric constraints, which places it coincident with the base of the Wordian (266.9 Ma in West Texas; Wu et al., 2020).
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: lithified "siliciclastic"
Environment:marine indet.
Taphonomy
