Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: lime mudstone
Secondary lithology: calcareous "shale"
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: "Mostly disarticulated bivalves occur in lenticular, dark, micritic limestones with dark, calcareous shale intercalations."
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: "High diversity, relatively high pop. densities...Deposit feeders absent. Prevailing infaunal and reclining forms corresond to soft bottom conditions, high diversity speaks for favorable conditions for suspension feeders. The bottom was within reach of low current activity (nektobenthic cephalopods and graptolites are current oriented). Sed. rate relatively low (disartic. shells) and the bottom below wave base (good preservation)."

Collection methods and comments
Collection excludes:some macrofossils
Reason for describing collection:paleoecologic analysis
Collection method comments: Life modes and abundances given for bivalves. List based only on type locality (table 16.14).
Taxonomic list comments:Bivalves are focus of this publication. Other taxa mentioned but not listed in detail. Taxa listed for this community but not explicitly stated to occur at type locality are: Gastropods (e.g. Platyceras, Orthonychia, Spirina), cephalopods, monoplacophorans (Drahomira), graptolites, Scyphocrinites, Ceratiocaris, Pterygotus, and ostracodes.
