Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: | lime mudstone |
Secondary lithology: | calcareous "shale" |
Includes fossils? | Y |
Lithology description: "Mostly disarticulated bivalves occur in lenticular, dark, micritic limestones with dark, calcareous shale intercalations." | |
Environment: | marine indet. |
Geology comments: "High diversity, relatively high pop. densities...Deposit feeders absent. Prevailing infaunal and reclining forms corresond to soft bottom conditions, high diversity speaks for favorable conditions for suspension feeders. The bottom was within reach of low current activity (nektobenthic cephalopods and graptolites are current oriented). Sed. rate relatively low (disartic. shells) and the bottom below wave base (good preservation)." |
