Geology comments: "Semi-infauna, suspension feeding mode of life indicates favorable conditions above the sea bottom and probably also low current activity. The dominant species filled a narrow niche where, in general, conditions were unfavorable for other benthic organisms. The micritic to biodetrital horizons containing A. migrans alternate with levels crowded with brachiopods where A. is rare or absent...The depth changes between the two levels were certainly negligible. "
