Primary lithology:very fine lithified calcareous "limestone"
Secondary lithology: lithified calcareous "shale"
Lithology description: Represented by the lower part, which could be attributed to the G, F and E Members. Generally, it consists of limestone, shaly limestone and shale interbeds. The age of the Abu Roash "G" Member is late Cenomanian (Hantar, 1990; E1-Shamma and Arafa, 1992; Schrank and Ibrahim, 1995), while the F and E Members are of Turonian age (Hantar, 1990).
