Stratigraphy
Stratigraphy comments: The interpretation of the Schlumberger logs by
PETROBRAS is apparently of a provisional character
and shows many questional formation and member
subdivisions. For these reasons these lithologic units
are not used in order to avoid confusion with
those established and published by PAMPLONA (1971).
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: lithified argillaceous "shale"
Secondary lithology: lithified argillaceous sandstone
Lithology description: The lithology of the lower ca. 825 metres consists mainly of shales alternating with some sandstones.
Environment:terrestrial indet.
Taphonomy
Modes of preservation:soft parts,original sporopollenin
Size of fossils:microfossils
Collection methods and comments
Collection excludes:all microfossils
Collection methods:chemical,hydrochloric,hydroflouric,sieve
Reason for describing collection:biostratigraphic analysis
