Stratigraphy comments: Alley (1987) assigned a Middle Eocene age to the flora based on an analysis of the microflora, and considered that the sand deposit at Golden Grove (which contains the fossiliferous material) is a correlative of the North Maslin sands (which contains the Maslin Bay fossiliferous material).
