Stratigraphy
Stratigraphic resolution:formation
Stratigraphy comments: Lower Bringewood equivalents (e.g. Pterinea Beds).
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:planar lamination siltstone
Lithology description: "...parallel laminated flags with alternating dark and light layers, possibly of seasonal origin and characteristic today of seas with stagnant to dysaerobic bottom waters." Lawson (ref. 6658) states: "laminated silts".
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: "The low oxygen level would correlate with the rare benthos. Its facial position suggests a BA 4 assignment, which is also similar to many of the restrictive bivalve associations in the Barrandian."
Taphonomy
Modes of preservation:body
Size of fossils:macrofossils
Collection methods and comments
Reason for describing collection:paleoecologic analysis
Collection method comments: Percent abundances are given, based on 61 samples.
