Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:shelly/skeletal wackestone
Secondary lithology:shelly/skeletal packstone
Lithology description: "...thick bedded oncoid-rich lithofacies..." From Ratcliffe (1991) (ref. 6688): facies composed of Lst beds 200-500 m thick, with little or no silty mudstone. Lst beds composed of oncoidal wackestones and packstones with occasional 30-50 mm thick beds of skeletal grainstone. Large algal bioherms occur.
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: "...deposited in low energy restricted mid-shelf setting. Oncoid morphologies indicate low energy conditions but in shallow water...shells scattered within beds, commonly disarticulated but unabraded...This combined with random distribution suggests bioturbation...supported by lack of depositional fabrics...abundance of algae in sediment...BA 2 likely."
