Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: | dolomitic, gray, red or brown marl |
Includes fossils? | Y |
Lithology description: "Occurs in brownish-gray, detrital marls." | |
Environment: | marine indet. |
Geology comments: "Environment thought to be low turbulence in view of sediment graint size. Abundance and diversity of coelenterates indicates normal salinity. Presence of syngenetic dolomite consistent with warm water environment, as is the biogeography of this region. Populations spottily distributed...Colony sizes small, spherical...and branching...conical...BA 2 because its position is like that of the Rhynchonella cuneata Comm., and it is interbedded with T. sarremica, Hedstroemia-Rothpletzella and Chaetocladus capillatus Comm's." |
