Lithology description: General description of community: "Commonly occurs as largely disarticulated shells, except for those taxa which disarticulate with difficulty, in a sandy mudstone-siltstone matrix, which may or may not be very calcareous and may not be a limestone. The bed thicknesses are in the few centimeters range. Crossbeds, prominent ripple marks, thin layering and laminations are absent."
Environment:deep subtidal ramp Tectonic setting:foreland basin
Geology comments: "Geographic and stratigraphic relations with associated communities indicate a BA 3 assignment....normal current and oxygen level within photic zone."
2003:05:03 SEP environmental call based on given description; again, tihs is a truly mixed interval in the Coeymans. could go into either carbonate or clastic classification scheme
