Stratigraphy
Formation:Schnoll Member:Guggen
Local section:Adnet Eisenmann Quarry Local bed:bed overlained by Marmorea Crust
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: A thin layer of red (so-called Enzesfeld) limestone overlains the Rhaetian limestones and is capped by ferromanganeous Marmorea Crust
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:condensed,ferruginous,shelly/skeletal,red or brown lithified packstone
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: Red condensed limestone with ammonites and brachiopods. Microfacies: echinoderm-foram biomicrite with gastropods. Intercalated hardgrounds may consist of brownish-yellow phosphatic sediment or of dark Fe/Mn oxides.
Environment:deep subtidal ramp
Glacial or sequence phase:lowstand systems tract
Geology comments: Sediment starvation may have been caused by current activity combined with strongly reduced input of carbonate mud due to the widespread drowning in the Middle Hettangian.
Taphonomy
Modes of preservation:body,mold/impression,original calcite, replaced with calcite
Size of fossils:macrofossils
Collection methods and comments
Collection excludes:all microfossils,difficult macrofossils
Collection methods:mechanical,field collection
Reason for describing collection:taxonomic analysis
