Stratigraphy
Geological group:Beacon Formation:Fremouw
Local section:Shenk Peak Local bed:28 m
Local order:bottom to top
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: "28 m above formational base (for WSU 0974)." (Cosgriff et al., 1982);
In Collinson et al. (2006, GSA Bull. 118(5/6) pp. 755/756) it is said that the base of the Fremouw Fm. is not exposed in the section and that the lowest vertebrate-bearing bed (incl. Lystrosaurus maccaigi) is 28 m above the base of the section.
