Formation:Schnoll Member:Langmoos
Local section:Adnet Schnoll Quarry Local bed:5a
Local order:top to bottom
Stratigraphic resolution:group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: The Langmoos Member is only present in basal part in the left (northeastern) part of the quarry, where it is 1.5 m thick
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:shelly/skeletal,green,red or brown lithified calcareous "limestone"
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: red, grey and greenish limestone bioclastic limestones with brachiopods, crinoids, sponge spicules
Environment:deep subtidal ramp
Glacial or sequence phase:transgressive systems tract
Geology comments: At the boundary of Calliphyllum (Planorbis) and Liasicus Zone, late LST and transgresive system tract conditions are supposed. Onlap of the Schnoll Formation at the slope as a lowstand edge. Poorly oxygenated, nutrient-rich bottom waters fostered dense sponge populations.
