Lithology description: From ref. 7182: "At Buchan the sequence consists of thin basal tuff, tuffaceous sandstone, calcareous sediment, and rare conglomerate, followed by 30 to 40 m of light-coloured dolomite and dolomitic limestone, overlain by mid-grey to black, fine to medium-grained calcarenite, with a high proportion of calcilutite in the upper part of the formation."
