Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:hummocky CS sandstone
Secondary lithology:bioturbation siltstone
Lithology description: "The Maecuru Fm. of Emsian/Eifelian age is composed by the Jatapu and Lontra members...Jatapu [consists of] bioturbated silty/shaly layers and argillaceous sandstones...Fluvial sandstones and conglomerates are the main constituents of the Lontra unit. However, locally on the N flank and throughout the subsurface the uppermost Lontra sediments are shallow marine "tempestites", i.e. hummocky cross-stratified sandstones containing the well known Devonian invertebrate fauna recorded by pioneer workers from outcrops of the Maecuru and Curua rivers."
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: Deposition reflects deepening. See lithology description.
