Stratigraphy
Geological group:Quillquinan Formation:Conor
Local section:Lajas Local bed:367 m
Local order:top to bottom
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: Collection from a 12 m thick marl unit, immediately above contact with Romiron Fm (late Cenomanian). The formation is 90 m thick at its type section; 157 m thick at this section. The formation conatins an early Turonian age based on ammonite biostratigraphy.
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:ferruginous,shelly/skeletal,brown,gray,yellow lithified marl
Secondary lithology:shelly/skeletal,brown "limestone"

Lithology description: Marl, yellowish gray, slightly ferruginous, nodular, weathers brownish, fossiliferous, with interbeds of thick-bedded, massive, fossiliferous light brown limestone.
Environment:marine indet.
Glacial or sequence phase:transgressive
Geology comments: The Conor Fm represents records the deepening of waters with diminution of faunas and increase in calcareous materials, chaing from shales into limestones below and above the unit. No paleoenvironmental interpretation provided.
Taphonomy
Modes of preservation:body
Size of fossils:macrofossils
Collection methods and comments
Collection methods:selective quarrying,field collection
Reason for describing collection:general faunal/floral analysis
Museum repositories:AMNH
Collection method comments: Collections reposited at AMNH.
Taxonomic list comments:Taxonomic list compiled by the author during 1951-1952. Nomenclature should therefore be somewhat antiquated, though systematics reflect supervision of Normal Newell, Columbia University and AMNH paleontologists.
