Lithology description: "The Hemse beds are a unit of biohermal limestone, bedded limestone, and marlstone about 100 m thick...At two areas [at Ljugarn] the rocks consist of in-place, coalescing stromatoporoid colonies, forming parallel, irregular layers which dip gently eastward. more extensive, surrounding outcrops contain more non-bedded stromatoporoid debris than in-place colonies. In addition to stromatoporoids, the debris deposits include algae, corals, crinoids, bryozoa, brachiopods, mollucs, trilobites, and ostracodes...[Compositional analysis of limestone given in some detail]."
Environment:reef, buildup or bioherm Tectonic setting:cratonic basin
