Stratigraphy
Formation: | Lourinhã | ||||
Stratigraphic resolution: | bed | ||||
Stratigraphy comments: Taylor et al. 2013: Underlying Abadia Formation sediments have a similar biostratigraphical signature to the Porto de Barças Member and both contain shell beds with abundant Isognomon lusitanicum, Praeexogyra pustulosa and Nanogyra nana. Both the Abadia Formation and the Porto de Barças Member are biostratigraphically dated as Late Kimmeridgian. The Porto de Barças Member was replaced by the Praia Azul member according to Mateus et al. 2017 which is latest Kimmeridgian–earliest Tithonian. |
