Stratigraphy comments: The age estiamtes for the collection are made based on the presense of several taxa characteristic of a Pliocene Hipparion fauna.
JA: the age is unquestionably late Miocene based on the faunal list
Lithology and environment
Lithology description: Unknown but thought to be from the red clays of the early Pliocene, Pontian, of the Paote Distirct, where the type specimen of Sinotherium largrelii was found.
