Stratigraphy comments: Originally dated to Middle Miocene (Chow, 1978, Chiu et al. 1979), now MN7, Astaracian, Tunggurian.
The Formation comprises grey-yellow and dark yellow muddy sandstones and terracotta red or grey-green mottled, red-brown sandy mudstones. Largest exposures are approximately 80m. |

Collection method comments: First discovered by the Department of Geology of Xibei University. Excavted in 1964 by the Institute of Vertebrate Palaeontology and Palaeoanthropology (IVPP).
The faunal list in Chiu et al. (1979) is a conflation of 4 localities in the Lengshuigou Formation. Each locality has been entered separately here. |
