"Hydrorion brachypterygius" = Microcleidus brachypterygius1 Huene 1923 plesiosaur MB.R.1991 (Lias e II4, Holzmaden): a complete specimen in lateral view; only the anterior part of the skull is preserved; SMNS 51143 (Lias e II4, Ohmden, near Holzmaden): a nearly complete specimen exposed in ventral view; the skull is incomplete and disarticulated; the lower jaw is complete and lying in situ at the end of the vertebral column; SMNS 51141 (Lias e II4, Holzmaden): a nearly complete juvenile specimen in dorsal view; skull in lateral view and nearly complete, with the right maxilla lying next to the skull; the mandible is dislocated; the metapodials of the fore- and hind-limbs are very small and rounded, and the first digit is scarcely developed; therefore, it is a juvenile specimen.
