Environment/lithology: marine; poorly lithified, gray claystone

• "gray, lumpy clay, somewhat mottled reddish brown and is broken and contorted"

•presumably poorly lithified because (1) sediment is described as "clay" instead of "claystone"; (2) sediment is "broken and contorted"; and (3) specimens are not shown preserved in matrix
