Where: Tonga (21.4° S, 175.9° W: paleocoordinates 27.6° S, 176.0° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Early/Lower Miocene to Early/Lower Miocene (23.0 - 11.6 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From unnamed lithostratigraphic unit, comprising volcanic tuff, which overlies Eocene limestone. AGE: ?Miocene according to Hoffmeister (1932) and Miller (1941) on the basis of foraminiferal biostratigraphy and morphology of specimen. More likely to be Early or Middle Miocene if Aturia aturi or close relative. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From unknown position with lithostratigraphic unit.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: coastal; poorly lithified, volcaniclastic, calcareous tuff
