• This section cannot be dated with conodonts. Lower Xikuangshan Fmn has two brachiopod zones (Yunnanella and Yunnanellina), which are thought to correlated with crepida conodont zone (early Famennian). Presence of Atrypacea and Pentameracea in Shetianqiao Fmn suggests this is still Frasnian, correlated with Upper triangularis Zone. (NB units 5 to 11 are covered in this section; 11 is highest, 5 is lowest.)
