Also known as Peikeng-Hsi, Peishankeng area
Where: Taiwan (23.9° N, 121.1° E: paleocoordinates 23.9° N, 121.0° E)
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Suichangliu Formation, Oligocene (33.9 - 23.0 Ma)
• Found in irregular calcareous hard sandstone boulder. Suichangliu Formation is exposed in the vicinity of the collecting site and exposed along the Peikeng-Hsi, a branch of the Nankang-Hsi. The Suichangliu Formation consists mostly of the blackish gray shale or argillite with intercalation of thin sandstone (greywacke). The age of the formation in the Peishankeng area based on micropal evidence is Oligocene. The float boulder is assumed to have not been transported far from its present location.
