Grotta Maggiore do S. Bernardino (Pleistocene), Colli Berici, Northern Italy (Pleistocene of Italy)

Where: Vicenza, Italy (45.6° N, 11.6° E: paleocoordinates 45.5° N, 11.6° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

When: Late/Upper Pleistocene (0.1 - 0.0 Ma)

• Late Pleistocene. The site is a large cave. Much sediment was eroded or damaged when the site was lived in, in the Medieval period. The date of the site is in dispute, some authors say the last glacial (Devensian in the UK sequence), others say there is a Holocene element. The Holocene specimens include domestic species and these have been entered separately. The material was first published by Fabiani 1903 and 1919, and he included both Pleistocene and Holocene faunas in those lists.

Environment/lithology: cave
